It can be tricky with the drive through depending on the location.  The traffic can get pretty heavy in some locations.  People might be going to shop at the other stores around and the starbucks lines can get pretty long.  Seeing the cars creep along until you can get your order in is just a part of the fun.

Coffee pots, coffee makers, coffee mate, ground up coffee and coffee filters.  Getting water for the coffee.  Finding the perfect coffee cup.  The coffee cup is too small meaning having to go back to get more coffee regular.

The best coffee cups are the bigger coffee cups. Getting the wrong color coffee cup because they are on sale.  Picked up a green coffee cup, but it is not a starbucks coffee cup.  The cup does not have any markings on it, it is a plain coffee cup.  

Getting cream for the coffee.  Milk is not the same as using coffeemate. Like to get the flavored coffee creams.  Have not tried the single coffee makers.  Why get a single cup coffee maker instead of a coffee maker that can brew 12 cups of coffee or more?  

Drinking a lot of coffee during the day.  Hot coffee and iced coffee.  The early morning coffee that is not poured into the cup just sits there.  After a while, the bright idea of turning the old morning coffee into an afternoon iced coffee comes into play.

The only problem with turning the old morning coffee into the iced coffee in the afternoon is the creme.  Adding in coffeemate to a cold coffee is not going to work.  Adding in milk into the cold black coffee is the option or reheating the old coffee from the morning.  Pouring in one of the flavored coffee creams is also a chance to change the flavor.

The old black coffee from the morning might not be in play at all. Walking over to the coffee pot and picking it up and pouring it down the sink is the right move.  You start asking yourself, am I using too much coffee?  The coffee can might be running down fast because you are brewing too many cups of during the day.

Trying to get the right amount of coffee brewed early is a trade off. You want to have enough that you can get a second cup without wasting too much.  Some days, you don't brew enough and you don't want to make a second pot.  Most days you are pouring coffee out.  

Reheating coffee in the microwave is a fast choice for getting the coffee hot again.  Does it change the way the coffee tastes?  Is it better to pour the coffee into a pot and put it on the stove.  Will it heat up in the coffee maker and be good again?  Is it not worth it at all?  

A Good Coffee Experience

Getting a black coffee and then adding in the extras that make it better is the art of transforming it in the morning.  The coffee starts off hot and black, but the extras take it to the next level.

Grabbing the coffeemate or the milk and pouring it into the black coffee to turn it into the softer brown is just the first step in the process.  Not adding too much, but just enough creamer to make the cup smooth.  

Adding in some sugar might be the next step towards the morning brew.  Not going overboard with those spoons of sugar is the right move.  Not too sweet, but just enough to make the hot cup of coffee just right.

Putting in some cinnamon might be going to far for the day, but some might like to add that little extra hint to turn the flavor in another direction.  The morning coffee is the daily routine and the first cup with the basics gets the morning off to the right start.

After the first cup of the day, the ideas of experimenting with the second cup might be on the menu.  Adding in some chocolate or topping it off with some whipped cream might take the coffee delight to a new high.

Having a bad coffee day

The smell of the coffee in the morning is like its own cologne or perfume.  There is something about getting a good, hot, smooth cup of coffee to get the day started.

What is the worst coffee that you have ever had?  It might have been at one of those conferences or meetings.  They have the coffee setup in the back of the room or at the side of the room.

You grab your cup and start to pour and everything is just like normal.  You add your regular coffee extras like cream and sugar.  It all seems normal.  You get back to your seat to continue with the day and at some point, you take your sip.

What is the reaction?  The coffee might look like the cup that you get everyday, but it doesn't taste like it.  You get a bad batch of coffee that is too strong or just old.  It is like a lost cause.  You get the idea that you can bang the coffee back into shape, but after adding sugar and more cream, you are still left with a bad experience.

Sometimes, you just have a bad coffee day.  Trying to rehab the coffee might work from time to time, but sometimes, it is just better to dump it and start all over with another cup from somewhere else.
